Step-by-Step Birdie Bread Instructions

| Go ahead and preheat the oven to 350°. |
![]() |
| Drop in some eggs. You want to break them open and then use your fingers to break up the shells into tiny pieces. |
![]() |
| Add in some mixed veggies. The amount is not important. |
![]() |
| Now drop in some broccoli. You can use frozen brocoli or fresh. |
![]() |
| Chop up some sweet potato. Yum! |
![]() |
| Add a big spoon of peanut butter. |
![]() |
| Put in about half a cup of liquid. I used orange juice this time. Now go ahead and stir everything up. I use two spoons to get it all mixed together well. |
![]() |
| Now stir in your first box of Jiffy corn-muffin mix. You can also use Martha White. Or you can use one of the brands that comes in the soft packaging. |
![]() |
| Put in some baking powder (about 1 heaping tablespoon). I just sprinkle it all across the top. |
![]() |
| Now stir in the second box of corn-muffin mix. |
![]() |
| Throw in a handful of nuts, Roudybush pellets, and unhulled sesame seeds. Go ahead and stir them in. |
![]() |
| Stir in the fragile stuff. Here I used some frozen blueberries, some apple, and some pepper. You can also put in dried fruit. |
![]() |
| Here's everything all stirred up and ready for the pan. |
![]() |
| Get your baking pan and hit it with a light layer of olive oil spray. |
![]() |
| Toss in some flour. |
![]() |
| Rotate the pan around to coat the inside all over with flour and dump out the excess. |
![]() |
| Dump in your birdie bread dough and pop it into the oven. You want to bake it for somewhere between 45 minutes and 1 hour. |
![]() |
| This batch baked for about 50 minutes. My very diligent assistant agrees that it looks done. |
![]() |
| But you cannot really tell until you give it a taste test! (After a suitable cooling-off period!!!) |
![]() |
| Yes, we think this batch will do just fine! |
I would like to take this opportunity to formally thank my very good assistant, Dutch, for his diligent and helpful supervision throughout the entire birdie-bread process!
